Your Application in Process
Your Application in Process is a comment on identity, representation, power, and inequality. The work is an attempted moment of social acupuncture; needling at the social body surrounding the everyday struggles within the greater society of the oppressed. The excess of chi, in this case, is the bureaucracy and the excessive powers of the Gate Keepers. The deficiency could be read as the reduction in social capital, power, and autonomy for many in society.
Your application in Process, is a collection of pulsing lightboxes, piled on top of each other, a video message, and a wrapping of red tape. It’s work about trying to survive, trying to move past the people who essentially control our lives, and feeling helpless to make a difference, but having the courage to say fuck you to the establishment.
